Rozhen Kamal Mohammed-Amin is an architect and academic whose interdisciplinary work lies at the intersection of digital technology, architecture, urban planning, and cultural heritage. She holds a BSc in Architectural Engineering (University of Sulaimani) and both a Master’s and PhD in Computational Media Design and Environmental Design (University of Calgary, Canada). She is currently an Associate Professor and researcher at the Kurdistan Institution for Strategic Studies and Scientific Research (KISSR), and a co-founder of the Cultural Heritage Organization (CHO). She also serves as a member of the UK Government’s UKRI (UK Research and Innovation) International Development and Talent Peer Review Colleges. Between 2016 and 2022, she founded and directed two research centers at Sulaimani Polytechnic University, including Iraq’s first interdisciplinary Digital Cultural Heritage Research Centre. From 2020 to 2024, she co-directed the Nahrein Network at University College London (UCL), where she remains an Honorary Research Fellow. Rozhen has delivered professional and scholarly activities and talks in 23 countries across North America, Europe, Asia, Australasia, and the Middle East. She has received numerous national and international awards, scholarships, and fellowships, and has developed and (co)led multiple internationally funded projects supported by the UK, USA, and European Union.
