Prof. Dr. Kawa Abdulkareem Sherwani was born in Erbil 1972. He got his PhD in English Language and Linguistics: discourse analysis at Salahaddin University and Cincinnati University, US in a joint split-state program. He got his full professorship from Salahaddin University in 2022. He served as the president of Erbil Polytechnic University from 2015 to 2022. He worked as the head of different departments: translation, media and library and information departments. He has taught different courses on linguistics, applied linguistics, discourse analysis at different universities in the Kurdistan Region. He supervised dozens PhD and MA student at different universities in the Region and examined hundreds of theses and dissertations. He is now serving as the president of the International University of Erbil.
