Mazda Sabony is a physicist and veteran technology engineer with over 30 years of experience spanning chip design, GPU computing, and AI infrastructure. At Infineon Technologies he contributed to the first UMTS baseband chip used in the iPhone and filed five chip architecture patents. He served as a member of the IEEE 802.1 standards working group. During 13 years at AMD he led the commissioning of major supercomputing facilities including LUMI, CINES, HLRS, and CERN ALICE, for which he received the CERN Industry Award in 2021. He is the founder of PioVation GmbH, developing AI platforms for enterprise and public administration.
