Dr. Suhad Abdulrahman Yasin is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University of Duhok, specializing in polymer chemistry and nanotechnology. Her research focuses on nanofibers for environmental applications, particularly in water treatment. She is the founder of the first American Chemical Society International Student Chapter in Iraq and has played a key role in expanding international scientific collaboration at the University of Duhok. She served as Principal Investigator of a PEER-funded project, supported by the National Academy of Sciences, focused on developing nanofiber membranes for the removal of hazardous materials from water. Dr. Yasin is actively involved in global initiatives, including the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) and the Global Women’s Breakfast, and serves as co-chair of the OWSD Iraq Chapter and a member of the editorial team of the Zanin Journal of Science and Engineering.
