Saleem Saaed Qader is a distinguished Iraqi Kurdish consultant general surgeon, academic, and healthcare leader with a long-standing career spanning clinical practice, research, and institutional development. He holds multiple advanced degrees, including MBChB from University of Baghdad, MSc in General Surgery from Salahaddin University, MPH and PhD in Experimental Surgery from Lund University, and MD certification from the Swedish Social Welfare Board, alongside the Swedish Board of General Surgery. Dr. Qader serves as Consultant General Surgeon and is the CEO and Chairman of the Executive Committee of PAKY Hospital, while also acting as President of the PAKY Organization for Community Development and spokesman for the Kurdish Organization of MedicAl Research (KOMAR). He previously held key leadership roles, including President of the Kurdistan Higher Council of Medical Specialties and Dean of the Medical Research Centre at Hawler Medical University. With over 50 scientific publications, two medical patents, and extensive contributions to medical education and research supervision across Iraq and Sweden, he has significantly influenced healthcare development in the region. In addition to his scientific achievements, he has authored health education books, hundreds of public awareness articles, and numerous poems in Kurdish, reflecting his commitment to both medicine and community engagement.
