Kayhan Zrar Ghafoor is currently serving as a dean of College of Technology at Erbil Polytechnic University. Before that he served as president of Knowledge University and he was a postdoctoral research fellow at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where he contributed to two research projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China and National Key Research and Development Program. He is also served as a visiting researcher at University Technology Malaysia. He received the BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from Salahaddin University, the MSc degree in Remote Weather Monitoring from Koya University and the PhD degree in Wireless Networks from University Technology Malaysia in 2003, 2006, and 2011, respectively. He has published over 110 scientific/research papers in ISI/Scopus indexed international journals and conferences. Dr Kayhan authored three books named “Cognitive Networks: Applications and Deployments” and "Privacy and Cybersecurity in Smartcities". He is worked as a General Chair of a workshop named Smart Sensor Protocols and Algorithms under The 9th International Conference on Mobile Ad-hoc and Sensor Networks (MSN-2014) which is held in Hungary. He also served as an Associate Editor, Editorial Board Member and reviewer for numerous prestigious international journals, appeared as a workshop general chair for international workshops and conferences, and worked as a TPC member for more than 37 international conferences including GlobCom and InfoCom. He is the receipt of the UTM Chancellor Award at 48th UTM convocation in 2012.
