Dr. Jwan Mohammed Mahdi Al-Mufti is an Iraqi academic from the Kurdistan Region, born in 1971. She currently serves as a representative for the Relations Department at the University of Duhok, where she manages cooperation with universities across the Arab world. Additionally, she is a Professor within the Arabic Language Department at the University of Duhok's College of Basic Education.Her academic foundation is rooted in the Arabic language, beginning with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mosul in 1994, followed by a Master’s degree from the same institution in 2006. She later earned her Doctorate in Arabic Language from the Institute of Arab Research and Studies in Cairo in 2014. Throughout her career, she has consistently advanced through academic ranks, achieving the title of Assistant Lecturer in 2006, Lecturer in 2010, Assistant Professor in 2017, and reaching the rank of Professor in 2023.Dr. Al-Mufti has made significant contributions to Arabic linguistics and heritage studies through her published works. Her bibliography includes specialized linguistic texts such as "A Dictionary of Inversion and Substitution in the Book of Al-Ayn" and "A Dictionary of Plant and Tree Names in the Book of Al-Muhit fil-Lugha". Most recently, in 2024, she co-authored the "Guide to Iraqi Folk Heritage," a collaborative project between the University of Duhok and the Institute of Development Studies (IDS). Beyond her writing, she is actively involved in the academic community by supervising students and serving on examination committees for Master’s and Doctoral theses.Her professional journey began in secondary education and evolved into various administrative and teaching roles at the Universities of Duhok and Zakho. She is a frequent participant in international conferences and scientific committees. Furthermore, she has expanded her expertise through diverse training programs, including mine protection training with the MAG organization, effective communication skills in Georgia, methods for teaching, and specialized training in preserving oral heritage
