Academic Experience: Professor, Lebanese University, Public Health Faculty, Tripoli (1993-2022). • Emeritus Professor since August 2022 • Promoted to the rank of Professor in 2006. • Founder & Head of Health & Environment Department (2004-2022). ▪ Responsibilities: Principal administrative and academic officer of the department - Designing Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment, and Professional Development - Oversaw the development of educational content related to environmental issues for various programs at the License & Master levels. ▪ Lectures: Air Pollution, Waste Management, Environmental Chemistry, Occupational Health and Safety, Water Treatment, EIA, …etc. • Founder & Director of Water & Environment Science Laboratory (2008-2022): Research Laboratory accredited by the Science & Technology Doctoral School. ✓ PhD Thesis director of 15 students in Solid waste, water and environment sciences, in partnership with French or Private Lebanese universities. Jan 2024 – Nov 2025 • In charge of the preparation of Strategic Plan for Sludge and Solid Waste Management in the National Water Company, Riyad (KSA) aligned with Saudi regulatory frameworks, Vision 2030 priorities, and international best practices, Project: “Waste Management, Inventory and Characterization Plan”,). The Project Goal is to establish an efficient and sustainable framework for sludge & solid waste management across all Wastewater Treatment Plants. The plan aims to ensure full compliance with environmental regulations, minimize environmental impact, and promote resource efficiency and circular economy, aligning with national standards and contributing to Saudi Vision 2030’s sustainability goals. • Environmental Expert in the project: “Establishment of Services Register in the NCEC: Details of services, Cost and Social Economic Impact”, National Center for Environmental Compliance, Riyad (KSA). The aim of the project is to review the list of services of the National Center for Environmental Compliance and to conduct global comparisons of similar entities to come up with a comprehensive list of the role and services of the center and update the current services record and then find a price for the new services in addition to reviewing the price of the current services. Also, to study the economic and social impacts of the services by proposing new environmental services and analyzing the broader economic and social impacts. • Senior Environmental Expert, National Center for Environmental Compliance (NCEC) Riyad, Executive Direction of Licensing and Compliance, Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture (KSA), (Dec 2022 - Dec 2023), Saudi Consultant: Verde Environmental Services. • Providing professional consultancy on environmental issues in the Environmental Technologies (Water, Waste, Air, Energy, Wastewater, ….). • Implementation of the Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Process (ISO 14034) in NCEC to Validate environmental technology performance and supports the advancement of innovative environmental technologies in order to meet environmental priorities. • Providing advisory support to the Center for studying corrective plans for development facilities by reviewing and evaluating environmental compliance reports (more than 30 reports accomplished: EIA, ESIA, Audit reports, etc.). • Conducting an overview assessment of the current environmental legislation in KSA on hazardous air emissions and water contaminants limits, and how they compare with international norms in EU, USA. • Reviewing the NCEC Environmental Regulations and Standards. • Developing partnerships with official environmental institutions in France. • Participation to Capacity Building Program and Workshops.
