Halmat Faieeq Darwsh Mahmood is a researcher in inclusive and special education, holding a PhD from Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan (2025). His work focuses on the inclusion of children with special educational needs in mainstream schools, with particular interest in autism, learning disabilities, and educational equity. He earned his master’s degree in Educational and Psychological Foundations from Valparaiso University in the United States (2014) and his bachelor’s degree in Educational Psychological Sciences from the University of Sulaimani. He was awarded competitive fully funded scholarships for both his PhD and master’s studies by the Government of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Iraq. He has published eight research works, participated in international conferences in Germany and Turkey, and was a visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.
