Dr. Bahar Mohammed Karim was born on 1 March 1986 in Darbandikhan, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. She completed her primary, intermediate, and secondary education in Darbandikhan, graduating with distinction. In 2004, she was admitted to the Department of Psychology, College of Education, University of Sulaimani, where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in the academic year 2007–2008. She graduated with a Very Good grade, ranking second in her department. Following her graduation, during the 2008–2009 academic year, she worked as a teacher at Darbandikhan Preparatory School, where she taught for a period before beginning her academic career in higher education. On 10 March 2009, she was appointed as a Research Assistant (Assistant Lecturer trainee) at the College of Education, University of Sulaimani. During this period, she also worked for some time within the Graduate Studies Directorate of the College. In 2012, she was admitted to the Master’s program in Psychology at the University of Tikrit, College of Education. She successfully completed her Master’s degree in 2014, graduating with a High Very Good grade. Following this achievement, she joined the Department of Psychology, College of Education, University of Garmian as an Assistant Lecturer. Between 2016 and 2018, she was seconded to the Office of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan Region, where she contributed to ministerial-level academic and administrative activities. From 2018 to 2020, she returned to her academic position at the Department of Psychology, University of Garmian. In the 2019–2020 academic year, she was admitted to the PhD program in Psychology (Educational Psychology) at the College of Arts, Salahaddin University–Erbil. She successfully completed her Doctorate in 2024, graduating with an Excellent distinction. In 2023, she was transferred to the Office of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and currently works within the Confidential Section. She is also responsible for the Psychological and Social Counseling Center file within the Apparatus of Supervision and Quality Assurance in Higher Education. Dr. Bahar has participated in numerous national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars, including events held in France, Germany, Italy, and the United Arab Emirates. She has authored seven research papers in the field of psychology. Dr. Bahar Mohammed Karim is married and has three children.
