A Chartered Power System Engineer with a PhD in Power System Engineering and over a decade of leadership experience across academia and the power industry. He began his career in 2005 as an Electrical Engineer and later became Head of Department at Sulaimaniah International Airport, overseeing electrical infrastructure, system reliability, and engineering operations. Awarded a prestigious scholarship and completed his PhD at the University of Leicester, UK, where he also worked for four years as an Assistant Lecturer, teaching BSc and MSc students in electrical and power engineering while mentoring future engineers. After returning to industry, he contributed to major UK utility companies, including National Grid, SSE, UK Power Networks, Scottish Power Energy Networks, and Northern Powergrid. His expertise spans network planning, system studies, grid integration, and large-scale infrastructure development. Over the past six years, he has led high-value transmission and distribution projects ranging from several million pounds to over £50 million. Currently a Senior Principal Power System Engineer at Northern Powergrid, he provides technical leadership, manages multidisciplinary teams, and supports strategic network development and grid resilience initiatives.
