David is a recognised leader in Data and AI with deep expertise in global university rankings and higher education performance. As Managing Director of Data at Times Higher Education, he oversaw the collection and analysis of data from more than 3,000 institutions worldwide, building robust frameworks that enhanced the accuracy, reputation, and impact of university rankings. He worked closely with senior university leaders and regional advisory boards to improve institutional strategies, particularly focussing on high-growth regions in the higher education sector such as the Arab region. Beyond higher education, David’s career spans chief data officer and director positions at companies such as GlobalData, Yell, RSA, O2, and ING, as well as early work on developing AI systems at ISL (part of IBM). David has consistently delivered high-impact programmes that have generated hundreds of millions of pounds in business value, while advancing the responsible use of AI and data to drive performance and sustainability.
