Assist. Prof. Dr. Narin A Rasheed is an Assistant Professor in Medical Microbiology at the College of Nursing, Akre University for Applied Sciences, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, where she has the leadership role as Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies. She has over 15 years of experience in higher education, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Nursing, Community Health, Medical Laboratory Technology and Medicine. She also leads the University Accreditation Committee, contributing to institutional quality assurance and academic development. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery from University of Duhok. She obtained her MSc in Medical Microbiology from the University of Manchester, UK in 2012 and her PhD in the same field from College of Medicine, at the University of Duhok in 2020. Her research focuses on Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, and she has published several scholarly articles with high impact in these areas. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she contributed to diagnostic and research activities at the University of Duhok’s Corona Centre and the Clinical Molecular Central Laboratories of the Duhok Health Directorate. She is also involved in the RISE project with UNIMID, which aims to reinforce the integration of skills for employability and internationalization in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. She has participated in numerous international academic conferences, symposiums, and training programs in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Turkey, and Jordan.
